摘要Femtosecond laser was employed to induce periodic nanostructures on the surface of titanium to improve its corrosion resistance. The effect of the induced structures on the corrosion resistance of the titanium was investigated. The micromorphology, wetting and microstructural features (e.g., phase content, grain size and grain boundary) and corrosion behavior of the titanium surface before and after femtosecond laser treatment were systematically investigated. The results revealed that femtosecond laser induced periodic nanostructures enhanced the corrosion resistance of the titanium in 3.5 % NaCl solution. The potential mechanisms could be attributted to the low proportion of high-angle grain boundaries (HAGBs), the formation of passive film with higher fraction of TiO2 and the air cushion effect on structured surface, which slows down the corrosion rate.
